Catechumenate

CURRENT GROUP

Current Catechumenate Group meets Monday evenings at Holy Spirit Kenmore - 7.30 pm

WHAT IS CATECHUMENATE?

It is a journey with a small group of people (not a course!), where people explore their faith, share their stories, ask questions, listen to others - in a safe environment.
It is a preparation for Baptism or Confirmation (or re-affirmation of baptismal vows) within the Anglican Communion.

WHO IS IT FOR?

* People who know nothing about the Christian faith but would like to find out what Christians believe.
* People who were christened as babies but have never come to church.
* People who were confirmed as teenagers, but did not continue coming to church.
* People who want to deepen their faith or examine what they really do believe.

IS THIS FOR YOU?
YOUR FRIEND
– OR NEIGHBOUR
– OR RELATIVE?

Come and see! The journey starts in August each year with enquiry meetings that will be well advertised.

THE JOURNEY

In October those who decide to continue take part in a rite declaring their intention to seek renewal of their lives in Christ. The group then continues with a further rite on Ash Wednesday to the service on Easter Eve where Baptism, Confirmation, or renewal of Baptism Vows takes place, and on to a joyful celebration at Pentecost.
