Some events in the parish of Kenmore-Brookfield Anglican
 leading up to EASTER 2010

Palm Sunday, 28th March @ 9am
A special service designed for families will be held at Kenmore Anglican, 1036 Moggill Road Kenmore. This service will allow children of all ages to participate in the Easter story which will be told in a simple but engaging way. Children are encouraged to come in costume and can participate as disciples, soldiers or members of the crowd.

A “donkey” will come to Kenmore Anglican for Palm Sunday!
The animal will form part of the procession at the 9am service on Palm Sunday. After the service free rides will be available for the children. Helmet, saddle and handler provided. The animal is trained for this job and very placid.

A sausage sizzle will be held after the service and lots of activities will be offered for the young and the young @ heart.

This is an ideal opportunity for worship if you are going away for Easter.

Maundy Thursday 1st April @ 6:30pm
A simple Pilgrims’ Supper will be held in the Courtyard @ Kenmore Anglican beginning @ 6:30pm, followed by a re-enactment of Jesus washing the disciples’ feet, and Holy Communion.  This Thursday is traditionally known as Maundy Thursday and comes from the Latin word Mandatum which means order or command. The command it refers to is the one that Jesus gave to His disciples, to love one another.  Please let us know if you are coming for supper on 3378 9189.
Good Friday 2nd April  from Noon till 3pm
“Three Hours at the Cross” will be observed @ Kenmore Anglican.
People are free to come and go as they desire.
The time will be spent in reflection and prayer and gentle messages focussed on the seven last words of Jesus from the cross.  Explanatory stations will be set up around the church and this will afford an opportunity to experience something of Jesus’ journey on that day of crucifixion. If you have not taken part in something such as this you are most welcome to join us. Many inspiring comments are always received after this service and it really does offer a time of meditation, reflection and learning.
Easter Saturday   Vigil and Confirmation with Bishop Geoff Smith  @  7pm

You are very welcome to join us for any of these events, as well as the traditional Good Friday morning and Easter Day Services.
